England recruiting spies via Facebook

September
30

Apparently this is for real. MI-5, England’s national security service, is using Facebook to recruit spies to join its intelligence agency.tjndc5-5c7zva1krg0ufndh4rs_original.jpg

Here’s their recruiting page.

“The Secret Intelligence Service’s open recruitment campaign continues to target wide pools of talent representative of British society today,” an MI-5 spokesman told G4 today. “A number of channels are used to promote job opportunities in the organisation. Facebook is a recent example.”

By the way, there’s a great spy show on the BBC called MI-5 (called “Spooks” in the U.K.) that I highly recommend. You can get it on Netflix.

Nerd note: The character James Bond is a spy for MI-6, which handle’s the country’s foreign intelligence.
