Political party like its yo’ berfday

You don’t have to be a political junkie to make following the elections fun. Now that the debates between Obama and McCain have started, you now have the perfect opportunity to throw some baller parties at your house.
The best way to watch the presidential debates is to rock out like you’re watching the Super Bowl. What better way to see McCain and Obama go at it then watching it on a big screen in hi-def while munching on nonstop grub with your buddies?
Even though Friday’s debate wasn’t all that spectacular to watch, my buddies and I still had a blast yelling at the screen after each of the candidates threw an occasional zinger.
I’m not the drinking type, but some of my friends even came up with presidential drinking games. Every time John McCain says “my friends” or refers to his service in Vietnam, everyone in the room does a shot. Same goes for Barack Obama when he mentions the word “hope” or “change.”
I also have a couple of political brackets that I keep with my friends from my old Washington D.C. days that are fun. We had some brackets to predict who would win the primaries and who would get selected as running mates, and now we have one going to outline which states Obama and McCain will win on election day.
And everytime there is an election or a primary, we throw a bracket party tallying up our predictions.
But if you’re as big of a political dork as I am, you probably have joined Fantasy Congress - my guiltiest pleasure. It’s just what it sounds like – a fantasy league with congressman instead of sports teams. Week by week, everytime a bill by one of the congressmen you select passes, you rack up points.
